The only treatment is surgery in which the lens is replaced.

The surgery is simple and often leads to a complete improvement in vision.

Glaucoma is a serious eye disease that causes damage to the optic nerve.

It is often caused by increased pressure inside the eye and can lead to vision loss (blindness).

The condition develops gradually and usually has no obvious symptoms at first, except for a decline in peripheral vision.

Treatment includes eye drops, laser therapy, or surgery to reduce the pressure inside the eye.

Early detection and regular check-ups are essential to preserve vision.

Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a disease that affects central vision and causes blurry vision or distortion of straight lines.

There are two types of the disease:
Dry AMD: leads to gradual vision loss.
Wet AMD: causes rapid deterioration of vision with distorted lines.

Risk factors include: aging, genetics, smoking, and excessive exposure to light.

The progression of dry AMD can be slowed with nutritional supplements, while wet AMD is treated with drug injections into the eye.

Early detection and regular treatment are essential to preserve vision.

Diabetic retinopathy damages the blood vessels in the retina. Symptoms: blurry vision, bleeding, vision loss. Treatment: injections, laser therapy, surgery. Regular eye exams are important. Monitor blood sugar levels to reduce risks.

Secondary cataract may occur after cataract surgery. Symptoms: blurry and distorted vision. Cause: growth of cells on the lens capsule. Treatment: YAG laser to open the capsule. Eye examination using drops to dilate the pupil.

Corneal ulcer: pain and redness.

Symptoms: dryness, itching, burning sensation, eye redness, and blurred vision. Treatment: artificial tears, eyelid hygiene, warm compresses, and sometimes prescription medications.
